If you’re one of the millions of people around the world who have rediscovered the joy of farming thanks to the addictive Facebook game, Farmville, then you might be wondering what the best Farmville strategy is.
It takes time to figure out how the game works, and what works for you, and what doesn’t, and if you’re like me, and you don’t like waiting, and love to win, then it can be frustrating! Fortunately, I’ve decided to share my best Farmville strategy tips for the beginner with you:
- Berry crops mature fast, and earn a reasonable amount of money. For instance, raspberries mature in just two hours, and earn you 46 coins, while strawberries mature in four hours, and yield 35 coins. Since the best Farmville strategy for the beginner is to make as many coins as possible, as quickly as possible, it pays to plant as many berries as you can.
- Many beginners make the mistake of buying farm animals too early on in the game. This is not the best Farmville strategy decision, as animals don’t earn much, and when you’re starting out, you need to make money fast. On the up side, when you have an established farm, animals can be a great addition, because they don’t need as much care as crops – but if you’re starting out, rather leave then alone for now!
- Trees also take a long time to mature – some as long as five days! While they won’t wilt, and they’re not as much effort as berry and other crops, they don’t earn you quick money. As I’ve said before, the best strategy for the new Farmville player is to make as much money as possible, as fast as possible, so if you’re starting out, stay away from trees!

Farmville is a massively popular Facebook game, so it has millions of players. If you are just starting out, you will pretty much be at the bottom of the pyramid. What you want to do in the early stages of the game, is learn how to level quickly. The quicker you level up, the sooner you get to access better seeds, larger plots and more advanced equipment. Wasting time with trying to farm cash crops at low levels will force you to take a a long route to the top.
If you want to know how to level quickly in Farmville, you need to learn how to gain the maximum XP you can, in the shortest time. Gaining XP isn’t just limited to growing crops and harvesting them. There are a number of ways you can increase your experience, and thus level up faster:
- Visit your neighbors every time you play the game. Try to visit at least 20 neighbors every day and assist them with farm work. Helping them do things like fertilize their crops, will earn you XP. Remember, there is only so much you can do on your own farm in a day, so helping out friends is a great way to earn more XP.
- Concentrate on planting crops that yield favorable XP, rather than money. Some crops will in fact give you no XP, such as raspberries.
- While many buildings, decorations and vehicles are essentially useless, or money-wasters, they can provide you with lots of XP. Check the amount of XP you gain before purchasing these items and remember to sell them for cash afterwards. Take your selling price into account when working out the XP gained versus cash spent calculation.

Farmville is a Facebook application and runs many platforms with Facebook access. It is a small, simple application and is classed as a MMORPG. Because the game is free, it has become very popular, with 10 million user accounts created in the first month of its release in 2009. With so many players going at it for such a long time, it is no wonder that new players want to find ways of leveling up and earning more coins, quickly and easily. There are many misconceptions about tips and cheats for Farmville.
Most of the so-called cheats are actually glitches or exploits in the game. There are very few real ‘hacks’, if any that actually work in the game. Most of the tips and cheats for Farmville are actually based on sound strategy, and take all the minute details of crop growing into account. Some crops earn you a lot of XP and these can be planted, then deleted and immediately planted again. This earns you maximum XP in a very short space of time. Players will do this in the early stages of the game, when XP is more valuable than coins.
